Plea For A Friend

My dream is to find a friend,
A person for whom I'll really care.
All my life I've spent searching,
But true friends seemed so rare.

In my prayers I'd ask the Lord,
"A friend please let me have."
A genuine friend whom I can trust,
A friend whom I can love.

Exhausted in waiting I am,
And this the Lord did see.
He then thought to grant my prayer,
A real friend, He'd send me.

Perhaps God has been my effort,
And thus He heard my cry,
A genuine friend to me He sent.
My tears I could now dry.

Composure has grown inside me.
Though fine friends are still few,
I'm glad to find a genuine friend,
I'm glad that I found you.
