Denmark Article
Some students from Denmark visited us in our school. They all came from different schools in Denmark. However, they meet together after school. They only stay in New York for a few days. Therefore, our school is the only school that they will visit in United States. I'm very proud about that. They told us something about Denmark, such as the school system and what they do in their free time.
The students in Denmark started to learn English since they are in fourth grade. They don't think English is hard to learn because there are many English movies and television shows. They already know some English before they started to learn it in school. Besides English, they also cam speak French, and German. In addition, they can understand Swedish since it is similar to Danish.
The school system in Denmark is very different from the school system in the United States. First, they have nine years of elementary school, and high school is only three years. Second, they usually don't have a major in high school. Finally, their graduation does not depend on how many credits they have. It depends on the students' understanding and the schools' system. Different schools have different requirements.
During their free time, they like to study and go to parties. They also play the computer. Computer is very popular in Denmark. One in three families have a computer at home. There is no team, or club in the schools. However, they do have the clubs in their towns, such as swimming clubs, basketball club, and soccer club.
The students also tell us how they feel about New York. When they just got here, they were so excited because they never came here before. It's like a dream. When they walk on the street, they think New York is a big city, it is the same as what they saw in the television, beautiful parks and tall buildings. However, there is one thing they don't like. There are too many homeless people in the street.
The visitors recommended us some good places to visit if we go to Denmark, such as Jylland, Sjcelland, Copenhagen, Fyn, and Odense. Jylland is a small island, it is totally different from the cities, even though the air smells different. When you arrive there, you can see the fascinating landscape.
